She was awarded the prize for best research paper at the Laser Florence Conference 2002. Clinical Assistant Professor Vieru York is among the pioneers in her field, having converted theoretical speculation in into delivered evidence based dental therapies.

She earned her Master of Science Degree in Biophysics and Bio-Cellular Technology for Laser in Dentistry and her PhD in Periodontology. She currently serves on the Board of the International Phototherapy Association in Japan and as Clinical Assistant Professor at the New York University, Dental School, Cariology and Comprehensive Dentistry Department. She is a Fellow of Royal Society of Medicine.
