Mr Nitesh Patel was born in London. He graduated from Manchester University in 1994 where he was awarded an MBChB degree with honours for his outstanding overall performance attaining honours in six undergraduate subjects. His basic surgical training was completed in various London hospitals leading to Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in England FRCS(Eng) in 1999.
He completed his Higher Surgical Training in ENT Surgery and was awarded the Gold Medal by the Royal Society of Medicine for 1st Rank in the National (UK) Intercollegiate examination in ENT Surgery with award of FRCS(ORL-HNS) in 2005.
He has been granted Certificate of Completion of Training by the Postgraduate Medical Education Training Board (UK) and currently holds substantive NHS consultant posts at Whipps Cross University and Newham University hospitals in London.
Awards and achievements
Mr Nitesh Patel has been included in the Marquis Who's Who in the World guide for his outstanding acheivements, and was invited for inclusion in the magazine 'At Home, choosing your consultant' with Dr Hiliary Jones (from GMTV); a guide to the UK's leading specialists. Mr Nitesh Patel contributed an article entitled 'How to Manage Glue Ear' and has been included in the Dr Hiliary Jones Directory under ENT Procedures. He has also appeared on Channel 4's Embarrassing Bodies programme successfully
managing a difficult ear problem.
His other awards and achievements include the North Thames London Deanery award for design of the North Thames Otolaryngology trainees’ website, JLO Travelling Fellowship awarded by the Journal of Laryngology and Otology to visit the House Ear Institute in Los Angeles, and participating member for voluntary service group which was awarded Queen's Golden Jubilee award for voluntary groups in the community.
