Mr Lawrence Freedman is a specialist orthopaedic surgeon in London with both a national and international practice. His particular expertise is knee surgery, including knee replacement operations and arthroscopic surgery for cartilage and cruciate ligament repair.

Mr Freedman has clinics in Harley Street, in the City and in West London for consultations and minor procedures such as joint injections and splints.  He operates at the Wellington Hospital in St.John’s Wood, London, and the Clementine Churchill Hospital in Harrow, Middlesex. 

He graduated from St.Mary’s Hospital in London in 1978 and went on to complete his orthopaedic training in Oxford and Cardiff. He was awarded an orthopaedic fellowship in Hong Kong, and in 1988 he was appointed an NHS Consultant at Northwick Park Hospital, Harrow where he continues to practise today.

His practice includes knee replacement surgery and arthroscopic (keyhole) surgery for torn cartilage and repair of cruciate ligament injuries. In cases where patients do not require surgery, Mr Freedman will work closely with physicians, physiotherapists, chiropractors, and osteopaths to ensure each individual receives the best level of care. In addition to his knee practice, Mr Freedman continues to provide a general orthopaedic service including hip replacements and he also treats children with orthopaedic conditions.

He is an assessor on the  appointments committee for the Royal College of Surgeons of England and he lectures to both the public and his medical colleagues and is the author of several scientific papers in orthopaedic journals. He provides the NHS web page for knee arthroscopy.

He regularly travels to Dubai and Kuwait teaching knee surgery in the government hospitals.
