Medical team

The acute care team is led by Dr Paul Glynne, MB BS PhD FRCP. Dr Glynne is one of London's leading Physicians specialising in the provision of acute and general medical care, peri-operative care and the management of critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit. He is the Director of Medicine for London Acute Care and consults privately at The London Clinic.

 

Dr Glynne is the Clinical Director of Medicine and Emergency Services at University College London Hospitals and he practises as a Consultant Physician and Intensivist at University College Hospital. He is emerging as one of the most sought after physicians within central London's private healthcare system.

 

In-patient care is provided in hospitals of the highest standard such as The London Clinic.

 

Surgical team

The surgical team is led by Mr Arj Shankar, MB BS MD FRCS. Mr Shankar is one of London's leading general surgeons with a particular interest in emergency surgery, pancreatic disease, sarcomas and hernia surgery. He is the Surgical Director of London Acute Care and Consultant Surgeon and Clinical Director of Surgery at University College Hospital (UCH).

 

He teaches at the Royal Society of Medicine on acute surgical emergencies and lectures regularly on sarcoma and pancreatic surgery. He consults privately at the Harley Street Clinic and operates at London Clinic and Harley Street Clinic. He brings with him a highly qualified team of anaesthetists, interventional radiologists and other surgical specialities.

 

General Practitioners

The London Acute Care team of general practitioners is available to see self-referred patients in surgery or at their home any time of the day or night. The service provided is of the highest quality and they aim to get a doctor to see you within one hour of your call. Occasionally they might advise you to dial 999 if the doctor decides that your condition cannot wait.

 

The General Practitioner team is led by Dr Paul Ettlinger and Dr Cristina Romete.

 

Radiology

There maybe situations when one needs to have a scan, an X-ray or an interventional radiological procedure as a matter of urgency during or out of normal working hours. London Acute Care works in partnership with renowned hospitals with state-of-the-art equipment and we ensure that our patients have rapid access to such investigations when needed.

 

London Acute Care works in partnership with London Acute Imaging, a group of leading consultant radiologists that always provide them with the best expertise available in London. They are available 24/7 for London Acute Care patients.
