Obesity surgery the focus of new BUPA website
BUPA has launched a new website to provide detailed information for people considering
obesity surgery
.
The new site,
bupaweightloss.co.uk
, has a calculator with which viewers can work out whether or not they have a serious weight problem, as well as advice for how best to lead a long and healthy life.
Clinical director Dr Jean-Jacques de Gorter told Easier website that, with obesity levels rising across the UK, people with serious weight concerns need to be able to access accurate and easy-to-understand information.
"In appropriately selected patients, including those who have failed to lose weight by any other method, obesity surgery can offer the best chance of successful weight loss and improving your overall health," he claimed.
"This website will provide you with the information you need to decide if this treatment is right for you."
There are 14 BUPA hospitals around the UK offering obesity surgery, all providing careful assessment and support both before and after the procedure.
