Dr Michael Sinclair is a Consultant Chartered Psychologist with a special interest in brief psychotherapy and the treatment of affective disorders.
Dr Sinclair is the founding Director, Head Psychologist and Clinical Service Director of City Psychology Group. He is chartered by, and is an Associate Fellow of, the British Psychological Society and is a Chartered Scientist. Dr Sinclair is an expert in combining cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), systemic therapy, psychodynamic therapy, rational emotive behaviour therapy (REBT) and person-centred therapy together in a way that best suits the need of the client. He has developed a unique and innovative method of helping clients solve their problems in a solution focused, fast and effective way.

As an advisor to the media, Dr Sinclair has a history of working closely
with journalists, broadcasters and programme makers. He has provided
expert commentary and psychological insight on a range of topics,
breaking news incidents and celebrity conduct. With his ‘down-to-earth’

skills at presenting psychology in a non-scientific way and made it
accessible to a wide variety of audiences.
Training and research
Dr Sinclair completed his extensive training at Manchester University, London Metropolitan University, The University of Essex, The Tavistock Clinic and The Royal Free Hospital, London. He has held various positions as specialist trainer and lecturer at City University, Roche Pharmaceuticals and The Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine.
Dr Sinclair has a number of different research interests including the development and implementation of independent private psychology services, brief psychological therapy, mental health in the corporate work place, and the psychological impact of illness on the individual and family.
Dr Sinclair is a contributor to the academic literature and has published several self-help books.
