Cancer is the name given to a malignant tumour caused by irregularities in the normal processes of cell division. There are more than 200 types of cancer affecting different parts of the body - and correspondingly there are many different types of cancer treatment including surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, as well as a number of newer innovative treatments.
Only a few private hospitals provide the extensive resources required for cancer treatment. The major private cancer treatment centres are concentrated in the London area.
